This is the lovely sousaku kokeshi doll.
Origin: This artist is from Gunma prefecture area.
Size: About 9 inch tall, weigh about 8 oz

Remark: Sato Suigai was originally Japanese water paint artist. She draws a beatiful design in her kokeshi.
This one has a red bamboo moyo which is lucky item in Japan.
She is lovey and very nice condition.
About Sato Suigai:
He has mastered Japanese painting under famous Japanese artist Komuro Suiun. He started kokeshi making around 1949. He has been awarded Tokyo mayor award at Kokeshi contest in 1958 and many others.

The creative sousaku doll is thought to appear in the late 1940s after everybody although some version claim to be appeared as early as 1920.
