who created dolls in wax as well as the clothes this doll wears.
He was a real artist and was among the earliest doll makers

including the beautiful wax head, cloth body, with pristine rose colored shoes of cloth, her under garments (cotton pantaloons & 2 full slips), her lovely gown of about 1880s style is beautifully ceated of lovely silk with LOTS OF DETAIL beautifully sewn and detailed. Her Blonde wax Hair Style features a large cluster of curls at the back. Her LOVELY bonnet is beautifully executed just like her gown!
Her WAX head and hands are so well done and in good condition except for a very minor blemish on her forehead which is only visible when held at a certain angel.

“Lewis Sorensen was one of a breed of master dollmakers. Sorensen was born August 13, 1910, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to a poor Mormon family. Infatuated with fashion designing at an early age, he began making dolls and doll clothing. When he was 17, he began working as a helper and cutter trainee for a dress design and manufacturing chain store, ‘Mode O’Day,’ in his hometown.
Three weeks after first clocking in, a dress he designed became a best seller for the retailer and was soon being called ‘The Lewis Dress.’ This launched the young man onto a career in the creative end of the business. In his spare time, he continued making dolls and doll clothing, using scraps salvage“
