1950.s Maccaferri Islander Ukulele soprano. Very nice condition, clean, new stri

Here is a 1050's soprano Ukulele. Made by Mario Maccaferri in the 1950's.
It has been stored well, in a smoke-free home. I have cleaned it inside and out, put new Martin strings on it. (see photos). I will include the original strings, an unused set of 'original' strings that are unopened. and another set of used soprano strings I don't need. The original felt pick is included too.
The tuners were removed, cleaned and reassembled. They work very well and hold good.
It is a fun little Uke, with a peppy tone.
There is not a case with it, but I will pack it well. :) Shipping is 'free' to the buyer.

Introducing the Islander
Maccaferri spent months searching for a type of plastic that had the tonal qualities of wood. He ended up choosing Dow Styron, a versatile, resilient plastic that gave instruments a nice, warm tone. He based the design for his new Islander plastic uke on a Martin Style 0 soprano and constructed it from eight separately molded parts.
To ensure good intonation, he molded the frets into the fingerboard, adding a zero fret just ahead of the nut, a signature feature on all Maccaferri plastic ukuleles and guitars. Islanders were strung with nylon strings made by DuPont, and they used “Tune Tite” tuners that helped keep them on pitch. The first Islanders had cream-colored tops and “simulated rosewood” backs and sides."
