    Description

2002-5 May The INCA Great Peoples of the Past National Geographic Map
    The Inca Empire
    was the largest empire in
    pre-Columbian America
    .
Its political and administrative structure is considered by most scholars to have been the most developed in the
    Americas
before the arrival of Columbus.” The map-side of this study contains a map of the once Inca Empire, running from Columbia down into Argentina, with it's political and military center located in the city of Cusco in Peru. The study contains three map insets showing the extent of the civilizations in three stages from 100 AD to 1470. There is a fourth inset showing the location of known archaeological sites and a lineage of the Inca rulers. The reverse-side contains a illustration of Machu Picchu as it might have looked with it's roofs. At the bottom of the illustration is a time-line of major events running from 900 BC to 1572, when the Incas were defeated by the Spanish.
    Map is approximately 20" x 31".
