Murakami Kenichi
Born 1929.
He started as oil painting artist during 1940s.
He started making kokeshi in the mid 40s.
His kokeshi received many awards at Kokeshi contest.
He uses wood curving and it interats well with his wood grain and his painting.
This one is a pair of very pretty small kokeshi.
The bigger one is about 2.5 inch tall.
The title of this pair kokeshi is Yukino uta, A song of snow.
This one is aged. Some people like aged ones rather than recently made.
