Description
Bausch & Lomb of Rochester, NY compound microscope originally patented in 1915 (this is likely a 1930s model). Earlier models were identified as FFS8-612, but this model is numbered 215608 and originally retailed at F H Thomas of Boston, MA.Features a triple nose piece, iron horseshoe base, swivel mirror, condenser, and polished brass details. There are three achromatic objectives on the microscope marked 16mm, 4mm, and 97x oil immersion, respectively. Includes two stage clips.
Appears to be in working order. Microscope itself is in good, vintage condition with light wear consistent with age and use (general wear / small scuffs to the brass).
Includes wooden box, which shows minor splitting, scratches, and wear from use. Does not include the key for lock, so door only stays partially closed at all times.
Height is adjustable and extends to: 14” H
D: 4″
