ANTIQUE JAPANESE SAMURAI WARRIOR DOLL WOOD GOFUN FACE FIERCE GENERAL W/SWORD ^

Description

This is a vintage Japanese mid Meiji Era (c. 1890's) Samurai warrior doll done in a soft sculpture with silk kimonos over a firm base.  He has a wooden head and gofun (crushed oyster shell) finished face.  He holds a long sword at his side..  The full set of armor is very realistically detailed.   He depicts a samurai general or Shogun.
Having been in storage for over 100 years, with the exception of minor signs of past use (see repaired foot - picture 11), he remains in

He measures about 9 1/2" tall by 5" wide including his custom base (24 x 12.5 cm).  The wooden base measures 5" by 3 3/4" wide by 1 1/4" tall (12.5 x 9.5 x 3 cm).
