Essentiale Forte is a herbal remedy used in liver diseases.
Indications:
It reduces the patient's subjective ailments such as:
* lack of appetite
* a feeling of pressure in the right upper abdomen caused by liver damage as a result of an incorrect diet,
* the effects of toxic substances or in the course of hepatitis.
Composition:
The active substance is: soybean phospholipids containing (3-sn-phosphatidyl) choline.
1 capsule contains 300 mg.
Dosage:
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Adults and children over 12 years of age: 2 capsules 3 times a day.
The capsules should be taken with meals, without chewing (e.g. with a glass of water).
Action:
Essentiale Forte contains essential phospholipids, which are glycerol esters of cholinophosphoric acid and unsaturated fatty acids; linoleic, linolenic and oleic. Due to the content of polyunsaturated fatty acids in side chains, these phospholipids cannot be synthesized in the body.
After getting into the liver, the phospholipids contained in Essentiale Forte are incorporated into the membranes of liver cells. This results in the replacement of existing defects resulting from the disease process and faster regeneration of damaged liver cells. Phospholipids are essential for the differentiation and proliferation of liver cells. They inhibit the processes of fibrosis in the liver by reducing the production of collagen and increasing the activity of the enzyme that breaks it down - collagenosis.
The phospholipids embedded in the membranes of hepatic cells reduce the sensitivity of these cells to factors of the immune system that can damage them. Phospholipids are secreted into bile, where they lower the cholesterol / phospholipid ratio and increase the solubility of cholesterol in it - thanks to the emulsifying properties of essential phospholipids, it is of great importance in the prevention of cholelithiasis.
Apart from bile acids, phospholipids play an important role in the digestion of fats and the absorption of vitamins soluble in them. Moreover, polyunsaturated fatty acids contained in phospholipids reduce cholesterol and normalize the level of lipoproteins in the serum - showing a beneficial antiatherosclerotic effect. They also increase the transport of cholesterol from extrahepatic tissues to the liver and activate lipolytic enzymes. Polyunsaturated fatty acids improve blood flow in the vessels by reducing the adhesion of platelets and increasing the elasticity of red blood cells.
Contraindications:
Do not use Essentiale Forte
if you are allergic to the active ingredient, soy, peanuts or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Side effects:
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data): an allergic reaction such as erythema, rash, hives, itching, digestive disorders such as nausea, loose stools, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort may occur.
Warnings:
Due to the content of soybean oil, the drug can cause severe allergic reactions. Do not use in cases of known hypersensitivity to peanuts or soy.
The drug contains small amounts of ethanol (alcohol), less than 100 mg per 1 capsule.
Pregnancy:
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
The use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.
Essentiale Forte should not be used in children under 12 years of age.
