    Colorful wisterias on her sleeves symbolizes the early spring season. This kokeshi is named "Yosooi(S)" which is made by Masae Fujikawa who won the Price Minister Award in Japan.

    About Kokeshi:
    Kokeshi (こけし kokeshi), are Japanese dolls, originally from Tohoku-northern Japan. They are handmade from wood which are Mizuki or Kaede in Japanese, suit for making dolls.
    Kokeshi have a simple trunk and an enlarged head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face. The body has their special hand-painted design, and covered with a layer of wax.
    One characteristic of Creative Kokeshi dolls is their lack of arms or legs, and is formed by the free and unrestrained imagination of an individual artist.
