Japanese Mask-Dance Doll Set.
Condition is "New" in original packaging.
The box has a little crack and one of the seperaters is unglued. I did not want to alter it and glue them back.
The doll and masks are virtually untouched.
I believe these to be about 80 to 85 years old.
Handmade and very expressive! Their personalities really shine through on their expertly painted faces.
The Japanese are well known for their skillful artwork.
This type of doll first became popular in the 20's and 30's and continued to be so untill after WWII.
I don't think the plastic has ever been removed.
The dancing doll is so sweet  And...some of the masks  are....well...a little scary.... they will tell a great story.
