JAPANESE WOOD KOKESHI DOLL LOVELY BLUE KIMONO w/ FLOWERS BY MASAE FUJIKAWA !

Description

This lovely Japanese wood sosaku creative kokeshi doll measures 7" high and a whopping 10" in circumference around her head.  She was designed by one of the most respected kokeshi doll artists - Masae Fujikawa - who has won numerous top awards in Japan for his beautiful kokeshi doll creations, including one for this doll - The Prime Ministers Award.  Her name is "Hanatsumi" which roughly translates to "Picking Flowers".
This kokeshi doll is wearing a beautiful soft, sky blue kimono that is decorated with small white, pink and yellow flowers and green leaves.  She's also wearing 3 pink flowers in her hair that were first carved into the wood and then painted.  Her soft, feminine facial features are just gorgeous with pale pink cheeks and long eyelashes, framed by her hair.  The artist's famous black and gold square sticker is on the bottom.  Please see below for flaws.
This pretty kokeshi doll is in good vintage condition - hard to find many flaws other than some dings on her hair - and she would make a great addition to your growing collection.  White areas are camera glare.
Please remember that this is a vintage doll that may have minor imperfections, such as dust/dirt/dings/scratches/scuffs/age spots.
