JAPANESE WOOD KOKESHI DOLL PRETTY CARVED PATTERN ON KIMONO BY HAJIME MIYASHITA !

Description

This lovely Japanese wood sosaku creative kokeshi doll measures 6.5" high and 9" in circumference around her head.  She was designed by one of the most popular kokeshi doll artists - Hajime Miyashita - who has won numerous top awards in Japan for his outstanding kokeshi doll creations, including The Prime Ministers Award.
This kokeshi doll is wearing an attractive black kimono decorated with crosshatch marks that were first carved into the wood for added texture, and then red paint was added for color and definition.  She's also wearing a cute matching red hair bow.  She has an adorable, somewhat shy face with peach-colored cheeks and closed eyes, framed by her traditional hair style.  Please see below for flaws.
This kokeshi doll is in very good vintage condition - hard to find many flaws other than a a few small scuff/ding marks - and she would make a great addition to your growing collection.  White areas are camera glare.
Please remember that this is a vintage doll that may have minor imperfections, such as dust/dirt/dings/scratches/scuffs/age spots.
