Kokeshi doll new old stock creative "Yamabiko", mountain god or spirit, by master Kato Tatsuo.
Is is new condition with its original box and paper, wood stand.
They stand 15.5 and 13.5 cm / 6.1 and 5.3 inches.
Mr Kato was born in 1940 and started creating kokeshi in 1960, he learned under master craftsman Sansaku Sekiguchi.
He is a multi awarded artist:
1981 -National Exhibition of Modern Kokeshi
The Minister of Education Award
The Minister of International Trade and Industry Award
The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award
Among others.
