    Spain in the Americas,
    showing explorers' routes and influences.
This map opens to 20½" x 29" and is printed on two sides.
One side traces the routes of Columbus, Magellan, Coronado, Ponce de Leon, Balboa, Pizarro, Las Casas, Malinche, Vespucci, Cortés, and Cabeza de Vaca during the 16th century, with details on their discoveries and their influences on the New World.
A map and artwork on the other side illustrate the trade that developed between the Americas and the rest of the world, a "grand exchange" that exists into the present day.
This map was published by the National Geographic Society as a supplement to its February 1992 magazine and is dated in the legend.
