Randy David CBG (Cigar Box Guitars) are individually custom-made in and shipped from rural Alabama just outside of Jasper, Alabama, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The Brothers: Randy Akins is a retired Master Carpenter and Craftsmen, and David Allen Akins is retired military, an entrepreneur, and a Collector of All Things Bohemian.

Strings (Also Made in the USA): This string set is voiced explicitly for 3-string cigar box guitars (CBGs) that you want to tune in an "Open G" (GBD) or "standard guitar" (GBE - the three highest-pitch strings of a standard 6-string guitar) tuning. Open G is an excellent setup for slide (fretless) playing, and the standard guitar tuning is unique for a fretted instrument - you can play the "top" portion of most guitar chords with just a couple of fingers! These are medium -gauge strings, are better for instruments that can be played heavily if you want a more robust sound.
