SIGNED JAPANESE KOKESHI DOLL SEE HEAR & SPEAK NO EVIL MONKEYS FROM NIKKO JAPAN !

Description

This auction is for a beautiful and unique Japanese wood creative kokeshi doll from the 1960's, and measures 8" tall and 8" in circumference around her head.  This kokeshi doll's interesting kimono has been carved to resemble bamboo.  The kimono is decorated with hand painted pictures of the world famous "See No Evil - Hear No Evil - Speak No Evil" monkeys, and their images are located in Nikko, Japan.  This universal saying is written in Japanese characters next to each monkey on the side of the doll.  The kokeshi is also wearing orange hair ribbons.  She has a jovial face because she finds the monkeys so amusing!  The artist's fading signature is on the side of the doll in orange ink.  Please see flaws below.
This Japanese wood kokeshi doll is wonderful vintage condition - hard to find many flaws other than a tiny bit of dust/dirt - and she would make a great addition to your growing collection.  White areas are camera glare.
Please remember that this is a vintage piece that may have minor imperfections, such as dust/dirt/dings/scratches/scuffs/age spots.
