    Description

    This auction is for a traditional Naruko "Ejiko" Japanese wood kokeshi doll.  This "Ejiko" kokeshi represents a baby in a basket.  Long ago, farmers, while working the land, would place their babies in baskets, which were easy to carry, and the babies were always near them as they worked the rice fields.  This kokeshi measures just 3" high and features a beautiful red chrysanthemum flower and black leaves.  The kokeshi is also wearing red chrysanthemum petals in the hair.  The artist' signed the bottom of the doll in black ink.  Please see below for flaws.
    This Japanese wood kokeshi doll is in good vintage condition - with some natural but uneven aging/shading/darkening of the wood - and would make a great addition to your growing collection.  White areas are camera glare.
    Please remember that this is a vintage piece that may have minor imperfections, such as dust/dirt/dings/scratches/scuffs/age spots.
