An amazing mysterious kokeshi doll.
The shape of the wood and the method of painting the color are of the Kijiyama type. However, I have never seen a shade and a red and white string decoration. It's very rare. The characters written on the body are the waka poems of Ono no Komachi from "Hyakunin Isshu". The contents are as follows.
小野小町 "Onono-Komachi" 花の色は うつりにけりな いたづらに わが身世にふる ながめせしまに
