About Craftsman
Masafumi Abo (since 1983)

Born on January 3, 1983, as the eldest son of Rokuchi Hide Abo. From April 1, 2005, he started training on wood for his father, and from April 1, 2007, he started making kokeshi dolls.
As a whole, he is a valuable young craftsman in the world of serious aging kokeshi dolls, and he and his father, Rokuchihide, run the "Abo Kokeshiya", and in addition to kokeshi dolls, there are also kokeshi dolls (tops that rotate even on snow) and wooden zodiac dolls. Widely involved.
He studied agriculture at Hirosaki University, and when he graduated from university, he volunteered to become a disciple of his father, Rokuchihide.
Along with Yuji Hasegawa, who inherits Owani Kokeshi dolls, he is expected to play an active role as a young hot water kokeshi doll maker.
