Description
This is a antique guitar for collectors.
Slingerland May Bell from circa 1936, I did some work on it since I received it with the bridge separated from the body. I sanded the existing bridge off circa 1/8'' in order to lower the action, also I routed the slot for my bone saddle while to the original one was just a wire or fret if you will.
The previous owner upgraded the tuners which I didn't like so I put on pair of 1960' Hohner to give it back that look closer to it's original date of manufacture.
There's still a minor crack at the bottom of the rear side about 4 inches long.
Neck heel looks solid, by closer inspection you'll see 2 hairline cracks on the bottom of the freatboard.
So basically I made it everyday player again with a great parlor size sound boosted by my new set of Yamaha 0.12 Folk strings.
However, it's a nice guitar for collectors - luthiers.
