    Description

For sale is a 1934 Kalamazoo 14 fret KG-11 guitar in dark sunburst. It is ready to gig…recent neck set and set-up by a luthier, tall saddle with easy action, and K&K Mini pickups installed. Adirondack spruce top (aged the old-fashioned way…85+ years). Honduran mahogany neck, back, and sides. Brazilian rosewood board, triple-bound sound hole, bound top, tapered headstock, and original bridge. The nut width is 1-3/4ths with a big “V” neck…and oh, the sound…dang! I’ve used it for blues, traditional flat picking, and even alternate tuning slide work, and it handles each genre with ease…vintage vibe at its finest! Some previous repairs to cracks on the back have all been done with care and respect. The original case is pretty beat, so I will ship both in a newer Gator gig bag.
This is a killer example of Gibson’s work in the 30s. Many of these older guitars need neck resets, bridges reglued, cracks fixed, and/or fretwork to make them playable…but all this has been already done…saving you plenty of money. I bought this from Willie’s American Guitars in St. Paul, MN (yes, the shop that found Jimmy Page’s black beauty Les Paul). They featured this Kalamazoo in their calendar that year.
