Product description
Vintage 1970's MIJ Sigma DR-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar w NOCC~Player Grade
Here's a vintage, flat top dreadnought Sigma DR-28 acoustic guitar from the late 1970's with a spruce top and laminated rosewood back. This was manufactured in Japan(MIJ) as a more affordable copy of the Martin D-28 and features plenty of natural relic'ing and play wear from years of enjoyment. Sigma was Martins' budget brand, meant to compete with what the other major manufacturers were doing at that time in the 1970s.
Our luthier worked his magic on this guitar to get her ready to play so you can fill your living room, recording studio, or performance space with the warm, sonic sounds of this vintage instrument! Guitar comes with a non-original, chipboard case.

ALL ITEMS ARE SOLD IN AS-IS CONDITION
All of our instruments sold are in complete, working condition. This instrument was professionally inspected, repaired if necessary & given a pro set-up by one of our favorite luthiers/guitarist/composer/teacher & fantastic all around human being as well as the co-founder of April Mae & The Junebugs, Dave "Catfish" Fecca of Dave Fecca Guitar Repair located in Moorestown, NJ...so this axe is ready to rip!
CONDITION:
Instrument is in good, player grade condition, in our opinion. Our luthier gave this a full pro set-up, including buffing and polishing the fretboard and tightening the tuners for smooth playability. He also sanded the saddle to lower the action and secured all components of the bridge. Additionally, he touched up the sound hole wear and spruce top with oil to remove most of the rough spots.
Cosmetically, the guitar has significant play wear and relic'ing due to its age. While it does not affect the playability, the "r" in headstock badge is a bit faded as well as the fading on the body and assorted dings and scratches on the sides. Mucho pick wear, especially on the treble bout side of the sound hole & assorted scratches on the spruce top around the sound hole & also on the guard. Please see the attached photos as an extension of our written description. Somebody truly loved this fine instrument!
DIMENSIONS:
Body is 40 1/4" long x 15 1/2" wide x 4 1/2" deep; scale length is 24 1/4" long x 1 3/4" wide at the 1st fret, 2 1/8" wide at the 12th fret, & 2 1/4" wide at the 17th fret.
Nut measures 1 and 3/4" wide.
Guitar weighs in at a very light 4lbs, 9 oz.
NOTES:
This instrument is ready to play in any capacity the player wishes. This instrument would give a great deal of pleasure to a collector, a player, or a professional.

**SPECIAL NOTE: It is with a very heavy heart that we wish to share the news of the recent passing on
Dec 6, 2020, of our almost 12 year old red & white beagle, our beloved Ace. He was our mascot and namesake of this shop on Reverb.com. He gave us the initial inspiration to sign up with Reverb.com, primarily due to the name that we chose to use on this fantastic website. He was also the chief of security & official greeter for our bricks & mortar shop, always ready to engage with the customers; tail wagging, always happy & forever on the lookout for any ingestible treats that our customers wished to share with him as well as a nice butt or belly rub.
Ace is, and will continue to be, very sorely missed by all who knew him. Our shop will never be the same without his presence. But, his intense spirit and joie de vivre lives on, through our loving memories of him and also via this wonderful platform online. Love the heck out of ya, Acie!!

TO ALL PROSPECTIVE BUYERS:
If you are contemplating making us an offer on this or any of our other varied listings, please be fully prepared to follow through, pay for your item and consummate the deal if your offer is accepted by us. We have been hit hard lately by offers from buyers with little or even zero feedback or inexperience on this selling platform. These buyers never paid for their purchases. Obviously, we would rather this never happen again, but sometimes it will occur no matter what our wishes are. Thank you for reading this far and for your patience and understanding as well. And, in the immortal lyrics from an early Steve Miller Band tune, “You gotta keep on keepin on”!
