    Description

Vintage Tiple that I believe was made by Harmony about the time they bought the Oscar Schmidt catalog in the late 1930's. Curiously, there are penciled numbers visible on the top brace near sounhole just like those I've seen on prewar Stella guitars. Materials, Sound, Volume, Size and Workmanship are all very comparable to the Martin T-18's I've owned and played. Tight, straight grained spruce top, mahogany sides and one piece back that appears to be maple. Original bridge is Brazilian rosewood as is the fretboard. Top is nice and flat. No evidence of any repairs. Very clean inside with all original bracing fully intact and firmly attached. Tuners are original and in good working condition with 2 replaced buttons. Normal playing wear but no cracks. Neck is straight and there is no buzzing or "fretting out". Action is good with strings ranging from 3/32" to 4/32" above the 12th fret. Loud with a crisp, throaty tone. Missing strap pin. No case but will be very heavily padded to avoid damage.
