Description
Vintage (70 years old) Kay 1952 K-36 Kay mahogany arch topI'm guessing 1952 based on old Kay catalogs I've looked at. 1953 was the last year for the gold shield head stock decal so it can't be any newer. Plus it has the 3 digit model number. In the mid '50s Kay changed to the 4 digit numbering system.
15" lower bout Mahogany body and neck
Brazilian rosewood bridge has not been ground on and has downward adjustment remaining.
Brazilian rosewood finger board
Celluloid pick guard
Original frets
The guitar is old and has plenty of imperfections but what it has going for it is how straight the neck is and how well it plays. You can play the frets all the way to the top of the neck over-lapping the body. The action is about .060"-.070" at 12th fret.
