  • Condition: There are nicks, scuffs, scratch marks, finish loss and what looks like a hairline crack in the front. The neck appears straight but that is only to looking at it. I have no idea how it would play since I cannot play this instrument. It has all eight strings which are intact but unsure if they need replaced. Being sold "AS IS." Due to the age of this instrument and being it is in vintage condition, I will accept no returns if there is something you do not like about it as vintage condition means it is not perfect.

    Description

    Vintage 8 String Wooden Mandolin.  It has a patent date of Oct 26, 1886 on the tailpiece/string holder.  No other markings are seen and age is unknown.  It has a seam in the back.  To me it resembles a ukulele but I was told it was a mandolin.
    Measures 21-3/4" long x 7-1/4" x 3" and weighs 1 pound 2 ounces unpackaged.
    There are nicks, scuffs, scratch marks, finish loss and what looks like a hairline crack in the front.  The neck appears straight but that is only in looking at it.  I have no idea how it would play since I cannot play this instrument.  It has all eight strings which are intact but unsure if they need replaced.  Being sold "AS IS."  Due to the age of this instrument and being it is in vintage condition, I will accept no returns if there is something you do not like about it as vintage condition means it is not perfect.  It could be a restoration project.
