Description
Hi from out of a long closed Luthier shop in Western Ma. Today we have a vintage Harmony H162 00-000 size guitar with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, Serial number 2702 . The neck is maple or poplar and reads " steel reinforced made in USA. Harmony is not known for fine finishing on their finger boards and this one is the same. Sanding scratches parallel with the frets are prominent, but the board we believe is Brazilian. The instrument is ladder braced and has no cracks , but it does have many scratches and nicks appropriate for its age Here's what it needs . A neck reset . The action is 5/32 at the 14th fret . The pickguard has lifted and an attempt to glue it down with yellow glue failed The bridge has some lift , but it is factory bolted down . The bridge pins are all missing with 3 replaced with screws. The tuners ( Waverly ? ) are correct and have No bent shafts. The neck has a little relief , but we think it will be fine after the reset. The braces all look to be tight too. Due to the way the guitar is bound I can't say for sure, but we believe it to be all solid woods. We will ship the vintage instrument in a chipboard case of a gig bag what ever we find that fits best. THIS IS SOLD AS IS I am not any kind of vintage guitar parts expert., and am going by old tags not written by me. This has been in storage for years. This will make it a great start for a vintage instrument restoration Or maybe an x brace conversion.. This will be shipped in a guitar box in the case and well padded and insured. Sorry NO international shipping due to the woods. Please check out my other sales of more stuff from this shop . Including many vintage banjo, mandolin, and guitar parts for luthiers as well as lots of ephemera, and some whole instruments as well.
