    Vintage Japanese Ningyo Emperor Jimmu Doll Kyugetsu Gofun Showa Gogatsu
    Available is this fabulous antique Japanese doll.  The doll is the Emperor Jimmu Tenno - the first Emperor of Japan.  According to Japanese mythology he was a descendent of the sun goddess Amaterasu.   He stands 11.5” tall, not including the stand.  The face is made of hand painted gofun and he has inset glass eyes.   The doll is quite detailed with paper arrows, kimono material robe, a lightweight wooden stand, etc.
    The stand measures 7.5 x 5” and is in good shape, with the exception of some lacquer bubbles.   In his original wooden box, which is marked Kyugetsu on the back.  In overall nice condition with no damage.  Shows normal wear and age.  Box shows shelf wear and the lid is a bit warped.
