    Description

Vintage Silvertone H53 Archtop Acoustic Electric Guitar w/ Case Rare Early '50s
Welcome! Right now, you are looking at an insanely cool and super rare archtop guitar.
This is a vintage Silvertone H53 archtop acoustic electric guitar.
It weighs 5 lbs. The scale length is 25", and the nut width is 1.748".
    The frets here are clean.
Produced by Harmony in the USA under Sears/Silvertone, the H-53 shares the same elements as Harmony's H-50 model.
One of the earliest and rarest archtops produced, the H-53 is also one of their most visually and tonally beautiful instruments, with elaborate checkerboard binding and a Gibson P-13 pickup.
With a solid spruce top, and maple back/sides, this guitar has a bright, and full acoustic response.
The overwound P-13 delivers plenty of fullness and midrange bark - the perfect pairing to the body's tone wood combination.
The maple neck has a full and very meaty U shape.
The Brazilian Rosewood fretboard features pearl dot inlay, and also features a Brazilian Rosewood bridge.
The tone/volume knobs appear to be bakelite as well!
Just a gorgeous gorgeous example of fine craftsmanship.
Normal wear you'd expect from a 70 year old instrument. There have been two hairline repairs (see all photos). Fully repaired by a master luthier, and won't effect the beautiful tone of this guitar at all.
The neck is ever so slightly (maybe 1/32") off the body, and the action is just about 1/8" at the 12th fret.
These guitars are getting harder and harder to find, especially in this condition.
Don't miss the opportunity to get your hands on this Silvertone H53 for a great price.
    Thanks for looking!
