late SHOWA Era (1926-1989)
wood kokeshi dolls in good to very good displayable condition.
One or both of the hand carved
hand painted
doll(s) may have a small nick(s), mark(s), scuff(s), paint wear, dust, etc..
The title of the Kokeshi dolls is MICHIKUSA (dilly-dallying on the road.)  The signed and marked box is included.
The renown Japanese artisan
YAMANAKA SANPEI (1926-2012) signed the bottoms of the two Kokeshi dolls.
The
larger wood
kokeshi
is about
17.5
cm (6 7/8")
high, 5.9cm (2 5/16") in diameter and it weighs 160 grams.
The
smaller wood
kokeshi doll
